Formed in 2000 when Evergreen Secondary School was first started, Evergreen NPCC has steadily been growing from strength to strength. With a total enrolment of 102 Secondary 1-5 male and female cadets, NPCC has again attained the Gold Award for its Unit Overall Proficiency Award in 2017.
We strive to nurture morally upright and resilient leaders who contribute effectively to the safety and security of the community. Our training focuses are Law Enforcement, National Education, Leadership, Resilience, and Personal Development. To achieve these aims, cadets engage in many different activities such as .22 revolver shoots, rifle drills, pioneering, outdoor camps, campfires, physical training and Promotion Tests. In addition, we contribute to the school by holding exhibitions on Crime Prevention and implementing CSSP projects to enhance the school's safety and security. We also work with the Woodlands NPC to share crime prevention messages with the residents of Woodlands.
Our cadets are also given the opportunity to represent the school in national events such as the National Day Parade and NPCC Annual Parade. We also rotate and collaborate with other Uniformed Groups to be the Guard-of-Honour for the School’s National Day, Honours Day and Racial Harmony Day parades yearly.
The NPCC cadets represent our school to compete and interact with other cadets from different schools through many inter-Unit Competitions, and had won awards in diverse areas like rock-climbing, soccer and captain's ball competitions. Cadets are given the opportunity to show their skills and have fun in these competitions such as Inter-unit Captain’s Ball, Basketball, Soccer and Rollerblading. In addition, our cadets organize the EVG NPCC Inter-Unit Games annually for other schools to participate in.
Selected cadet leaders also have the opportunity to participate in HQ NPCC and school-organized overseas trips to areas such as Hong Kong/Macau, Malaysia and Brunei. These trips serve diverse objectives, from introducing participants to the Police Forces of other countries, to building resilience and teamwork through overseas outdoor activities otherwise unavailable in Singapore.
All these activities contribute to make confident, well-rounded leaders in our cadets, and we look forward to continue growing from strength to strength.
