Direct School Admission DSA Sec

(A) Introduction

The Direct School Admission - Secondary (DSA-Sec) Exercise, introduced by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in 2004, seeks to promote holistic education through recognising a more diverse range of achievements and talents. All students interested in applying for a place to Evergreen Secondary School via DSA-Sec will need to do so via a centralised DSA-Sec Portal managed by MOE.

1. Application for DSA-Sec 2025 is open from Wednesday 7^th May 2025, 11am to Tuesday 3^rd June 2025, 3 pm.

   The application is free-of-charge.

2. Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
   Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school, and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from Year 1 - 4/5.

(B) Talent Areas

1. Evergreen Secondary School offers all Primary 6 students an opportunity to gain direct admission through the DSA-Sec Exercise, which is tied to our school’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP) and Learning for Life Programme (LLP]. We welcome student applicants who express a deep passion in communications, leadership and/or sports, even if they are presently not in any related CCA.

2. Our school offers the following DSA talent areas and domains:
   (a) Talent Areas under our ALP

   i. Digital Media ^{NEW in 2025}
   ii. Bilingualism ^{NEW in 2025}
   iii. Chinese Language
   iv. Malay Language

   (b) Talent Areas under our LLP

   i. Leadership (Boys & Girls)
   ii. Badminton (Boys & Girls)
   iii. Cross Country (Boys & Girls)
   iv. Netball (Girls)
   v. Rugby (Boys)
   vi. Table Tennis (Boys & Girls)
   vii. Volleyball (Boys & Girls)

3. Successful DSA students will also be nurtured through our distinctive programmes to further develop their talents, character and leadership potential. They will have opportunities to participate in various competitions, workshops and enrichment activities to further hone their skills and expertise in their respective domains. These students can also take on leadership roles within their CCAs and at the school level, contributing to EVG’s vibrant student life and inspiring other students through their leadership.

(C) Selection Criteria & Selection Process

Meeting all the criteria does not guarantee shortlist or offer.

Applicants who do not have prior experience may also apply. The school will assess applicants based on the selection criteria, which may include assessing the potential of the applicants.

You will receive notification from the school by Friday, 11th July 2025. If your child has been shortlisted to undergo Direct School Admission (DSA) selection.

All applicants will receive their application outcomes between Monday 25th August and Thursday 4th September 2025.
