Chiang Kair Tong Education Support Fund

As a secondary school with a relative large number of students on Financial Assistance Scheme, Evergreen Secondary School is very grateful for the offer of financial support from the family of Mr / Mrs David Lilian Chiang. With the agreement of our well-wishers, the school proposed that the funds be named the Chiang Kair Tong Education Support Fund (ESF). The ESF will be targeted at needy pupils who have demonstrated good progress. The ESF is named in memory of the late Mr Chiang Kair Tong, late father of Mr David Chiang See Thong.

The Award-winning Video (2011) – How We Interact

About the Video:
Committed to serving the community, Interactors from Evergreen Secondary School plan, organise and actively participate in service learning projects. The video showcases some of the activities that the Interactors have been involved in for the year 2011. Among them are the Neighbourhood Recycling Project, Picnic with Spastic Children, and EVGSS Charity Bazaar. The Interactors also advance international understanding and goodwill through their participation in overseas community projects. As reflected in the video, in June 2011, they helped build and refurnish the facilities of two primary schools in Bintan.
On the whole, the video represents “How we Interact the Evergreen way”. The Interactors interact not only among themselves during events such as the Interact Installation (which has been featured in the video as well), but also beyond the school community. Abiding by the motto “Service above Self”, they are dedicated to serving the community, both locally and internationally.

The National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) - Silver

Committed Secondary 3 Interactors who attend the Overseas Learning Journey will be given the opportunity to accomplish the Silver NYAA.
The NYAA is a balanced programme of activities designed to equip students with personal qualities of self-reliance, perseverance and a sense of responsibility. It is known worldwide, with more than 130 countries operating the Award Programme under different titles.

The NYAA helps students in three ways:
  1. It helps them to discover interests and talents they never knew they had.
  2. It gives them a certificate and a badge as a record of their achievements.
  3. It gives them national and international recognition.
